In a traditional Malay wedding, gift exchange is one of the most symbolic introductions of both parties' background to the other... It introduces both families of where and what kind of family the party is from. One of the many things that's included into the gift exchange is now the Sireh Dara.


What is a Sireh Dara?


Sireh Dara or Sireh Junjung is an essential traditional gift item in Malay weddings to signify the purity of the lovely bride and is usually placed at the wedding dias. 

With rapid modernization, Sireh Dara is now a part of the gift exchange between both the bride and groom’s family during the akad nikah ceremony.

Cupcakes have evolved over the years! It no longer sits itself on quaint tea plates accompanying you while you have your sunday tea with your girls. It has ventured itself further as you often see cupcakes grace bigger events, sometimes even replacing birthday cakes and even wedding cakes! 

Its gotten more colourful, funkier and prettier... Its been graced with little sugary fondant statues... However, here at Jitters & Smiles, cupcakes still take on the classic look with a twist of the 21st Century.

The Sacral Moment

It is here again. The Wedding Season! Without fail, in the months of November and December, many lovebirds decide to take their wedding vows. Of late, our team here has been busy with one of our special wedding of the year on a very sought after date i.e. 11.11.11. We will update our readers here about the event shortly.
